Jorge Rodrigues has been named “Chef of the Year by the local hotel school, the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Algarve (EHTA), in Faro. Jorge cooks at the restaurant of the Eurotel de Altura, Tavira (Algarve), and features the local, traditional cuisine in his kitchen.
Portuguese cuisine is probably the world’s most underrated cuisine; the hotel’s web site barely mentions the restaurant and is mum on the name of its chef. Prize winning food is just normal, hardly worth mentioning in Portugal.
